Fine Art Archival

Your art collection is unique and varied.
I can help you organise them in one place.

I have been very fortunate to be the archivist for the Battlefield Lens (now Dogma) collection since 2018. I’ve scanned, photographed, organised, and tagged over 1000 prints and art posters.
These prints are often old and fragile; needing specialised care to move them around their mounts or frames. All archived files can be reproduced for prints.

For those with a large art collection and requiring an easier way to visualise your collection, I did a book for the Battlefield Collection making it easier for researchers and curators to view the collection in a hardcopy form when needed. I also organised a digital folder and tagged each image with its metadata to make searching for the images more accessible.

FAQ

  • I can work with both 2D and 3D works.

  • It depends on the size and type of work.
For image prints (stamps included) smaller than A4, I would recommend scanning unless you need a very specific resolution that only a camera can achieve.
For paintings (no matter the size), I recommend photographing them.
We are also able to do 3D scans for 3D artworks too.

  • I mainly include a description of the work, size, provenance and any other notes that you might have.

  • We use video LED (cold) lights to photograph artworks so there is no flash (hot lights) involved.

  • It depends on if you wish to reproduce the work as a print or simply keep it as a digital archive to browse. I am happy to discuss your options.

  • I’ve taken many a trip to Freeport in order to archive artworks in Freeport itself. Do contact me to find out what the process is like.
I am also able to bring my studio/ scanner setup to where the collection is located to photograph/ scan it.
